Our Senior pastor & His family
Pastor Chris, amanda, jayden, & madison
Pastor Chris Frank, his wife Amanda, and their two girls, Jayden and Madison, began pastoring First United in January of 2021. They moved to Fort Madison from the Des Moines area after following a very strong and clear call of God to move to Southeast Iowa. Their vision is for First United to be a family church where everyone is welcome. Their goal is to see souls saved, lives transformed, and good Godly growth on individual levels, the whole church body level, and in the community.

our founding pastor
In 1975, shortly after Bishop Culp earned his license with the UPCI, the Culp family followed the call of God and moved to Fort Madison to start a church. God had called him to preach when he was 11 years old, and now it was time. They had church services in their home for a while and eventually bought a formerly Baptist church building. Almost 4 years later, a heavy snowstorm did so much damage to the building that it had to be torn down and rebuilt. God provided supplies and labor through members and friends of the church. The Culps’ three sons were instrumental in the reconstruction of the church building.
For 45 years, the Culps pastored the First United Pentecostal Church of Fort Madison. They saw countless people receive the Holy Ghost and go down in the waters of baptism. Pastoring in Fort Madison was never an easy task, but they stood firm through every trial. Without their faithfulness, their countless seen and unseen sacrifices, God only knows where so many of us would be today.
